Installation problems

I today received two trackIR2 headtrackers to be used in research and gaming.

However, I can not install the hardware on one of my computers. Everything works fine on my laptop, but on the stationary computer the hardware is not identified. Instead, it remains as "Other devices\USB device" in the Device manager, and the NaturalPoint software receives no data.

I have tried both the trackIR equipments I ordered, with the same result. I also used different USB ports, I have restarted the computer (although this was not asked for during the installation, and not needed on the laptop) etc. to no good. I am logged in as an Administrator able user. Antivirus software was disabled during install on both computers.

I tried to compare the registry for both my computers, and there are more trackIR-related entries on the laptop.

Using Windows XP, fully updated.
Drivers v. 3.03

It seems like the trackIR does not get included in the list of known devices, so when connected, it is not recognized.

Please help!

I am having the same problems with TIR v1 as you have with TIR v2.

Alot of people are seeing this problem, and no solutions are being offered at this time. The old reformat and reinstall WinXP "workaround" gets mentioned a few times, but that is not a panacea nor a real solution.

Lets hope NP developers care enough to contact a few of us with the problems and work this out.
