Hi,

just ordered a TrackIR2 unit and still am running TrackIR1 under Win XP.

What steps in installation will I have to do when TrackIR2 will arrive. Do I have to deinstall the TrackIR1 device at all? Or only the software?

Thanks for your hints in advance!

Rienhard are you using the latest version of the TIR softwear, if you are you should just be able to unplug your TIR1 unit and plug the TIR2 unit in and it should all work.

Hi, Hotdognz!

At this moment I'm running 2.11, which worked fine for me...

Ok then once you get your TIR2 unit you will need to unistall 2.11 but first save your profiles, they end with the .tir file name. Also remove the TIR1 unit from your machine.

Unistall 2.11 then download the latest version of the TIR softwear posted here
http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... R_3_03.exe

Now install the TIR 3.03 and then reboot just to be safe (you dont have too though) now plug your new TIR2 into the USB port and move your saved profiles back into the TIR install dir and you are good to go.

You will need to tweak your old TIR1 profiles to suit the more responsive TIR2 unit.

Yell if you need anymore help.

Hi, Hotdognz (and anyone else)!

I did what you suggested and everything went o.k. (although uninstalling 2.11 only went manually by deleting TrackIR folder and entries under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Naturalpoint in the registry as there was no TrackIR or naturalpoint entry under "Software" in my Windows XP.

Running now TrackIR2 with 3.03 under XP (USB 1.1 in PC, no hub, only TrackIR as USB device plugged).

What really frustrates me is:

When I'm in cockpit (IL2 Forgotten Battles), and look left/ right, I get kind of horizontal "flashes" (horizontal lines) in my view and view is not that smooth as TrackIR1 was with 2.11. If I'm in outside view I don't have these problems

Especially frustrating because I hoped to even improve the view updating to TrackIR2 which should be smoother than TrackIR1...

Please help!

Greetings Reinhard

Reinhard cheack your email as I have replied to you, I have attched to it my Track IR profile for Il2 FB use this and we can start to see where the promblem lies.

Once you get my profile make sure that on the
Profiles tab that my il2 FB profile is set to auto load with Il2 FB, this will ensure that you are running my profile, also dont change the Hotkeys I have set as these shouldnt conflict with any ingame default keys.

Once you use my profile come back and report if you have any promblems simlar to what you are getting now

Hi, Hotdognz!

Thank you very much for your help!

Your profile is near to mine, same dead zone, rest is a bit slower with me than yours.
Problem is still there using your profile. Getting a bit nearer to it though. Postet the prob in the German www.sturmovik.de forum (which is the home for German FB gamers). Got the hint there that it all looked like vsync problems. I looked at my graphic card settings, "vsync" was activated there under OpenGL settings. I play under DirectX though, as the quality is better with my NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 card. Changed to OpenGL in game settings and problem was away!!! So can I change graphic settings anywhere? (in my graphic card settings there was no option for vsync under Direct3D/ DirectX). I was told however that IL-2 Forgotten Battles was deactivating vsync in game anyway??!

I suppose the problem has something to do with the higher frequence of TrackIR2, as under TrackIR1 I had no probs with gaming IL-2 FB under DirectX. I'm no PC freak however and thankful for any hint which solves the prob for me (and perhaps others) as I love TrackIR and can't get along without it!!!

Thanks in advance!

Greetings Reinhard
