Hello:
Thanks for the report. There is a possiblity that our driver or program hung and did not respond to the system wide shutdown command, it should. If it happens again, let us know. We recommend users shut down our software before they shut down their machine, just because USB can be a little flaky.
Shutdown bug

Last night I encountered a strange bug where I think TrackIR would not permit me to shut down my machine.
The Scenario:
At desktop with MSN Messenger, Norton AntiVirus, TrackIR software, and WindowsXP PPPoE connection (DSL) are running in the system tray. I attempt to shut down the machine. All processes in the system tray are shut down but the machine never does and I remain at the desktop. I attempt to shut down again (START->Shutdown) but nothing happens. I am able to open a text document. I notice that the 4 red LED's on the TrackIR device are on. I attempt to restart the machine (START->Restart). It goes to the blue screen (not the BSOD) saying it is about to restart but hangs there. The four LED's are still on. I press the power button on the computer to do a hard shut down. The machine shuts down BUT the four LED's are still on somehow.
I restart the machine. It gets to the desktop sucessfully and XP sends an error report. The four LED's are still on. I start up the TrackIR software. It operates normally and the device tracks normally. I shut down the TrackIR software and it closes normally and the four LED's turn off. I attempt to shut down the computer. It shuts down normally.
My computer is composed of the following items:
OS: Windows XP Home edition with SP1 and all updates and latest drivers installed
CPU: AMD 1.9 Palomino processor
RAM: 512MB PC2100
Motherboard: MSI KT266PRo with VIA chipset
Video: GeForce 3 Ti w/ 64MB RAM
Sound: SB Live!
Mouse: Microsoft Intellipoint USB Optical mouse
Nothing on my machine is overclocked.
I am using the TrackIR 2.01Final driver.
This is the first time something regarding TrackIR has malfunctioned (if it was indeed TrackIR at all). Other than this it has worked flawlessly (and I love it dearly )

Hey, it happens with me every time I try to shut down too! I had a feeling it was TIR but hadn't got around to trouble shooting it.
I'll test it tonight.
