Can't see TIR device?

Track IR has stopped working after i left it unplugged for a few days, works fine in another computer, but not mine.
Tried reinstalling, deleting the software and drivers, no luck. Computer just recognises it as "usb device". And the doesn't seem to be any drivers (.inf) on my cd or to download to install it.
Any ideas?
Nate

Nate--IRL--,
I need a forum that warns me when someone makes a post.
Please e-mail me, so that we can check the status of your unit. Is everything listed okay in the Device Manager?
This does sound strange that it works on another computer.
On the day that it stopped working can you remember installing anything, especially Microsoft updates?
Again... Sorry for missing your first post.

Not a problem.
If you have e-mailed me, you should have a responce from me by now. Its difficult to sometimes put a forum name against an e-mail.
If you have not had an e-mail from me, please send it again.

I've just had the same problem, but managed to find a solution myself. The key to it lies in: HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Enum/USB. One of the keys there is created by Naturalpoint software, but as sometimes my computer crashed and TIR device wasn't working properly, only thing I could do was to reinstall the drivers and software. And so I did, thus adding many keys to the mentioned before. Older keys should have been deleted, but for an uknown reason have been not. I tried deleting them manually, this however produced an error at each attempt. The thing is to remove protection from these keys - PPM [right click] on on, from the context menu select something like "rights" (I dunno how is it in Enlish XP, i've got Polish edition). Grant yourself full controll of it, delete, reinstall the software and it is done, TIR is working flawlessly again.
