is there any news on TIR2 drivers for XP64?
i have just recently upgraded to XP64 and am dismayed to find my TIR2 no longer works

if not is thre any work around to getting it to work as it has become an integrated part of my online life

Our lead tech support person has left the company for an extended period of time due to family issues. I apologize for any delays in this response.

We do have 64 bit drivers for our TrackIR3 and up. The TrackIR2 software/hardware is substantially different and would require development time that we feel is best spent pushing our current products forward. NaturalPoint continues to invest in new technology that benefits our customers and we believe in bringing that to you as soon as we can.

As always, the TIR2 still performs the function it did when you purchased it. The new code base for the TIR3/4 is not backwards compatible with the 1 or 2 because of the major hardware changes; it would not be a simple process to make 64 bit drivers, though we wish it was.

So effectively you have no plans for X64 support for TrackIR 2?

Of all my peripherals and devices, some new and some 4/5 years old this is the only one with no x64 support.

Unfortunately, due to the hardware differences, the TrackIR 1 & 2 will not have x64/Vista drivers.

this attitude is pretty awfull but well its the choice you made.
i wished you had the ressources to keep trackir2 alife.

I've Managed to get my TrackIR 2 working under Windows Server 2003 R2 X64 Enterprise edition, this method will also work with other X64 Windows XP or 2003 versions.
I tested with Lock On 1.02 so can not guarantee that other games will work but I think they will.
This will only work for the TrackIR 2 and not the TrackIR 1.

1) Install TrackIR 4 software (I used 4.1.029 beta 4) this package comes with a working TrackIR 2 driver for Windows X64, the TrackIR 4 software will however not work with the TrackIR 2.

2) Install TrackIR 3 software (I used 3.13) this package comes with a driver we will not use, but the application will run with the driver provided in the TrackIR 4 package.

3) Start the application that came with the 3.x software load your profile and play a game!

OH MY GOD! I CAN CONFIRM THAT THIS WORKS!!!!

thank you so much for the help..now i finaly can play il2 again. i didnt play now for almost 2 years now simply because i couldnt use my trackir anymore.

i think your post should be a sticky on this trackir2 forum. maybe it helps others too?
