"jumping veiw"

Hi all,

firstly thank you for the product TrackIR3pro, initially when i purchased it, i suffered severly from motion sickness, and was left wondering why yet again i had "wasted" money on a toy i couldnt use!
However after a friendly call to Naturalpoint staff, enhanced mode and some profiles sent by you guys helped this problem dramatically.

The next issue i have is with the fact that the cursor often moves on its own in flight creating a "jumping" or "skipping" of veiws without input from me, this especially becomes frustrating when on the six of an opponant and it seemingly flickers or skips.
This unusual occurance happens in both Multiplayer and single player modes.

I decided to open TrackIR and checked out the curser movement under the "motion" tab... i noticed the exact same occurance where the cursor would apear to skip or jump even when staionary, it does so in an eratic fashion. Incase your wondering, this anomaly also occurs when the cursor is clos to centre, as well as nearing the end of its veiwing range.

I checked the manual and it listed 3 suggestions or remedies of which all 3 have failed.

Has anyone else had this problem? if so anyinformation on fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
My Comp spec are as follows:

P4 2.66 Gig 2 x 60gig Hdd running 1.2Gigs DDR ram
ATI Radeon 9600pro vid card, with 256mgs DDr Ram,

Game i use TrackIR3Pro for is IL2 Forgotten battles

Serial # on my TrackIR is 18280

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,

Falcon

Falcon,

When this happens check in the tracking screen to see if anything else is being tracked.
Only the tracking object, which should be your dot or hat should be visible.

If you have other objects in this window, check to see if any lights or reflections in the room may be causing this.

Falcon,

If you are using the hat do you have a NaturalPoint TrackHAT or your own hat with a dot on?

If you are using a hat, use one of the square dots and change "Prefered Object Size" in the tracking window to TrackHat.

Please let me know how this helps.

Falcon,

This is very odd.

At this stage I would un-install your TrackIR software and also delete the NaturalPoint folder which will will find in the directory where you installed, normally Program Files.

Re-install the software and add the profile that I sent back into the TRackIR folder and see if this makes any difference.

Ensure that you have Adminatrative rights.

If you are still having a problem, please e-mail me and we can go from there.

Could be interference on your USB bus from another device. Try unplugging everything else except the mouse from USB and see if it goes away.

Make sure you don't have the unit plugged into a USB hub but in it's own dedicated port. This might require a complete un/reinstall of the software.

Good luck!

Falcon,

These are all valid checks that you can also make, thanks Charvel.
