Do TrackIR ever cause you to lock in games?

Am wondering because while playing FS 2004 which is what I use TIR for currently � get hardlocks with it enabled while so far with it disabled I have been fine.

Got windows XP too btw. Am not sure if it�s TIR or something else but...

Actually I'm having a similar problem in WWII Online. If the TrackIR is off when I start the game, get to the map screen, select a town it locks up.

If I 'enable' TrackIR then I don't have this problem.

System is running WinXP with SP2 - I didn't have this problem prior to installing the TrackIR so I'm wondering if it is a driver issue or some type of IRQ conflict or something of that nature.

Could be a driver or could be the way the App initializes the TrackIR driver.

Anyone else?

Are you running your TrackIR through a hub?
Check that your drivers are up to date especially the soundcard.

What is actually saved in the log file after this happens? Do you get any error messages. This should not be too difficult to identify what is causing the problem.

I had a quick check over at Playnet and this does not appear to be happening to anyone else. What version of WWIIOL are you running, I know that this should automatically update when you log in on line through Playgate.
I will have a look on my system to see if I can replicate, if you can let me know the version you have.

No no USB hub. Get no error log because it hardlocks and I have to reboot. All drivers new. Kind of hard to trouble shoot though at the moment was a time since I last got it.

If anything I suspect my 6800 still has shoddy drivers.

Hmmm...thanks for checking things out. I'm still troubleshooting it to see what's happening.

Actually, oqvist makes an interesting point to something that happened the other day while playing. The system (I thought) locked up - but I waited for about 1-2 min. - then suddenly it started running again. The graphics were all messed up at that point. I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with the Nvidia drivers - not sure why they would start acting up since I've installed the TrackIR, but I'll keep an eye on it and update you when I've played with it a little more.
Next time it 'locks' I'll wait a few minutes and see if it really locked or just 'frozen' for a few minutes.

I have a 6800 also and I am having a similar lock issue with my FB:AEP:PF install! Looks like some kind of driver conflict. Jim and Crew I can almost 100% guarantee this is what is happening. Sometimes it freezes for a few minutes and sometimes it causes a re-boot. It only does it when I have TrackIR on when I go to fly.
