I'm having a small problem here.
The install program supplied with my TrackIR 3 fails, immediately after the "TrackIR Setup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard..." dialogue, with the following error window:
Window title: Internal Failure
Window text: Error number: 0x80040707
Description: (blank)
After selecting "OK" to continue, I get another, identical error box, after which I am able to continue to the Select Components setup screen, which is, however blank, leaving me with no option but to exit.
Note that I have yet to plug the TrackIR itself into any USB port on my machine, so this seems to be purely a software problem.
I've downloaded the 3.12 installer from the website, with the same results.
The machine in question is hyperthreaded 3.2GHz Pentium IV on an Asus P4P800S SE motherboard running Windows XP SP2.
Help!
EDIT: Disabling hyperthreading in the BIOS didn't help.

Speedwaystar,
It sounds as if there is a problem with your install shield on your computer.
Please check out the following link...

If you are still having problems please let me know.

Re: Installer internal failure with 3.12 drivers
Thanks, Wayne, for that astonishingly quick reply!
The problem was, indeed, related to InstallShield. I couldn't for the life of me tell you why, but it seems that my c:\documents and settings\all users\Desktop folder was missing (!), causing InstallShield to spit the dummy.
Strange.
Anyway, folder created, and all fixed now.
Again, thanks.
