Hello All,

I'm thinking of buying a TrackIR-3 Pro and use it with the soon to be released GTR racingsim.

But before that, i like to know what the maximum distance between the device and reflective DOT is. And is it required to place the device at eye-level?

I'm going to use a projectorscreen to play my games on. So, i've no monitor in front of me to mount the device on.

Distance to projectorscreen approx. 2.25 meters.

Can i place the device on the desk in front of me? Or is that too low?
Or can i mount it to the wall where the projectorscreen is, 2.25meters away?

But I have a similar problem. I have the TIR3pro mounted above my monitor which is in a cockpit that I built. The distance from my head to the monitor is not adjustable (the cockpit is designed for me alone). Can I move the unit below the monitor or somewhere else? The canopy is not an option since I fly most of the time with it open. Really just want to know what kind of options I have before I go to work. Unfortunately, the designer (me) left out easy mods in the original cockpit design.

2.25 meters is quite a distance, however there may be an alternative. I worked with someone quite recently with the same problem.

Can you e-mail me with some details and I will see what we can do to help, and show you how a friend of mine got over this problem.
