TrakIR Pro lock up with IL2FB

I'm running TrackIR Pro ver. 3.12 with IL2 FB ver 1.21, and it keeps locking up, as well as the motion being too fast. But I saw a solution in the Forum for the fast motion problem. I can't see anything listed for a system lock up though.
I'm running Windows XP on a new Dell XPS system (big and fast). Once the in the air, the sim works OK for a couple minutes of panning around, then locks up requiring a reboot.
What can I do?

When the system locks up do you get any error messages? What is stored in the system Event Viewer, that may give an indication for the lockup on your system?
Do you run your unit through an unpowered hub? We can slow the speed down with the right profile, but first lets concentrate on the lockup first.

I don't get any error messages, it just freezes with sound running normally.
I don't know how to get the "system event viewer".
I don't know what an "unpowered hub" is.

I also have had the same problem. Overall the trackir works very well, but since I plugged it in tonight (3pro) I have had several lockups with the sound looping when it locks up.
I can get the error to repeat with more than 4 C-47's on quick mission builder or merely by loading a campaign.
When I turn off the trackir all works well. Because of the sound looping when it locks, I'm wondering if its not some sort of conflict with the soundcard. (Creative audigy gamer latest drivers).
Anyone else have anything similar or a solution?

Let me take a look at this... Is this only in IL2 or PF also?

Wayne this also happens in Targetware. You will be panning around then screen will freeze with sound normal or the sound will start to loop neccesitating a hard reboot.
Doesn't happen everytime but enough to be annoying.

I have had it happen in FS2004 a few times. I turned down my video settings(lowered cloud count and ground detail) and that fixed the problem for me.
