Vertical placement of Camera?

I'm minutes away from ordering the TrackIR3 Pro but I wanted to get one potential hangup cleared up.

My 19" monitor sits on a 6" shelf on my desk so the top of the monitor where I'd be placing the TrackIR camera is probably 3"-5" above the top of my head. If I place the reflective dot on my hat I'm afraid that it would be a few inches below the camera level. Is that going to be a problem? What kind of tollerance does the camera have to vertical placement of the reflector?

And how much room above the monitor do I need for the camera. If it's taller than 4" I may have trouble fitting between top of my monitor and the shelf above.

Hi Ken,

My TrackIR sits about 2" above the top of my head and I have never had a problem. Just angle it down so that the reflectors are in the center of the screen and you should be fine.

From the top of my monitor to the top of the TrackIR, I read exactly 2". The base of the TIR can also be slightly depressed to make the clearance even smaller.

So, if you got 4" of space, you are home free.
