Need Quick Start Guide to Deadzones

Hi,
My head is moving way to fast in FS2004/9 and Pacific Fighters. I have the latest version of TrackIR3 Pro software.
I tried dragging the dead-zone graph up and down in the settings, but it doesn't appear to do anything in the sims.
How can I slow things down?
