TrackIR3 Pro Unrecognized

Post by trx »

I just recently tried to install TrackIR3 Pro again. I made sure it was disconnected, and uninstalled from the system. Downloaded the latest drivers (non-beta) from the website and installed them. Restarted and connected the TrackIR3 Pro unit. Windows keeps telling me it's not recognized and when I try to tell it to search for drivers to install, at the end of the install at the last file it reboots the PC.

Trx, if I were you I would redownload the driver to a new directory or even drive if possible.

Unplug your TIR and uninstall the driver via Add/Remove Programs.

Go to and make sure that there are no TrackIR/Natualpoint directories (normally C:\Programs\TrakIR (or NaturalPoint).
If there are some save profiles that you want then just move them to another directory.

Reboot

Reinstall the driver.

Plugin the TIR

If you have saved any profiles I would then copy them one at a time into the profiles dir for your TIR.

If one is broken then just delete it and make sure that TIR is working fine again.

If that does not help come back and we will try something else.

Good Luck

Well, at least I'm not the only one having this problem. What are your system spec TRX?

Martin, the only thing I can think of if the above has not worked is to rebuild your USB Tree.

Get your system disk (incase it is needed).
Right click on My Computer and go to Properties.
Select Device Manager.
Open up USB devices and uninstall each of them untill you can delete the USB branch.
Reboot.
Onc your PC has rebooted you should hear a few 'Hardware Found' beeps. There is a possability that you might need your system disk at this point if it is asked for.
When all the Beeping is done reboot again, if there is more Beeping then reboot again untill every device is refound.

If none of that has done the trick then email either Warren or Wayne and include all that you have done (point them here if you want to) and your Serial Numbers of your TIR unit.

Good Luck Guys.

Trx, drop either Wayne or Warren a mail with your serial number and everything that you have done. They will look into it for you, do not give up on it as it really does add to the games that uses it.

Good Luck

I did what you told me to do but the problem remains. I going to write the E-mail, but don't think you will be able to solve the problem just by mail. I guess it's it's a hardware malfunction and I don't want to open my TIR to take a closer look because I'll probably loose my warranty. There might just be a little short circuit but as I said I don't want to loose my warranty.

So now I'm going to write the e-mail and I hope that we'll find a solution as quickly as possilble.

Martin, that us why I sugested dropping the line to NP Customer Services. I can only help by trying to duplicate and find ways to clear instalation problems as I am only a user like you.

Natral Point have a deeper knowledge of both drivers and hardware. I hope that NP can help you both as TIR is a great addition to the simmers arsenal of suspending belief and entering the sim.

Good Luck to you both.
