Possible bug: TIR3 / FS2004

Post by booty »

I got my TIR3 PRO + VE yesterday and installed, only to discover it did not work at all in FS2004. After having confirmed there was nothing wrong with the device itself (it worked fine in LOMAC/FC) I browsed these forums without much luck so I decided to fiddle some with my FS9.CFG.

This is when I made an interesting discovery: Normally, I always enter HIDEINFOTEXT=1 under the [Main] section in the FS9.CFG (adding that line removes the text saying stuff like "PARKING BRAKE ON" or "SLEW" etc) so I tried removing it. That suddenly kicked the TIR3 into action!

Just to make sure, I added the line back in to the CFG file and this instantly killed the TIR3 functionality. I have tested it with 9.0, 9.1 and with the no-cd fix. I have also tested it in windowed/full screen mode. The only thing I have found that kills TIR3 is adding that line and the scenario is 100% reproduceable on my machine.

This might be something for you guys to look into as I suspect you might reveal more interesting stuff related to that line of text.

Cheers

That's strange because I also have that line in my FS9.cfg but I haven't had any problems. I don't have the Pro version but I do have the VE.
