Filters and Distance

Post by ITGL72 »

I'm a little confused a few things here so bare with me :-)

Today while home for lunch I had to play around with the configuration of my TIR. I believe I found a setting for my FS2004 that I like. However I have to sit closer to it then I plan on.

I am only about 3 to 3.5 feet away from TIR and have 3-4 dots on the front brim of a hat. Now I'm not sure if the following question I have is related to this or not (maybe I just need to make a bigger set of dots for TIR to see) but here goes.

What info do I need to know what to set the height and width filters? What height and width of WHAT? The dots? Is it just in General? Its not clear to me in the manual as to what this is for. "These sliders control the size of the tracked reflective material on the Y and X axes." Width and Height in a certain measurement?

Should my dots be touching each other? Or can they be spaced out with gaps between them on the cap?

Like I said above right now at about 2-3 feet I get the reflective image in the green box within CAMERA VIEW, but site back a foot or so in my *flying* position and I go to a RED BOX.

I'm open to suggestions...

Hi, ITGL 72!

Suppose you don't get any answer as (nearly) nobody has understood this here either. The manual is really (*censored*)... sorry, naturalpoint!

As I already posted, in my opinion there are masses of technical devices which were made by geniusses but those guys often cannot find the words to explain people who just bouhgt one but don't have any idea how it works...

I'm also interested how the filters work and posted it, nobody answered...

Well shucks.. I'll just mess with them and hope for the best. I really don't know what to do with them as far as being as efficient as possible. TEST TEST TEST.
