TrackIR and frame rate

Hi,
before purchasing TrackIR 3 pro in order to use it with Flight Simulator 2004, I'd like to know if it has an impact on FS frame rate. I am often on the threshold of stutters with some sceneries (about 9-10 fps), thus even a 1-2 fps decrease would harm me. Could you tell me how many fps less I could expect after enabling TrackIR? I have a PIV 3.2 GHz, 1 GB ram, ATI Radeon 9800 pro-128 Mb.
Thank you and best regards.

With that rig you run 10 fps?
Try end it all.
btw, I do not think TIR does anything on fps on your system. Seems you have a terrible lot of programs running that can be shut down.

Hi JG,
just got my TIR3 pro today an it does a nice job.
The FPS drop in FS9 however is rather noticable.
I'd say it costs about 10-20% FPS on a system similar to yours and i hope to find some solutions for improvement here on the forum.

Nicolaas,
what is the reason for your inadequate answer ? If you dont know something useful to reply why answering anyway ?!

MSFS performance is totally scenery dependent.
It is pretty easy to bog down even tomorrows highend systems with *lots* of the scenery addons avail those days..

edit.:
oh btw JG:
if you consider to buy TIR3 pro then consider to take the Vector Expansion too !
I made several tests and tweaks without VE (still out of stock?) und i must say that I hope I recieve it very soon. Only VE might solve most of the problems i notice with the standard TIR3 pro (hysteresis, inconsistent movement)

TrackIR software uses less then 2% of your system resources... if yours is using more then there is a problem with your setup somewhere.

JG if you are running XP then I would use FSAutoStart, it is more complete than Enditall.

TIR does not take that many fps but I would clean up your system a bit though.
