hi , I updated my TrackIR 5 today through the menu interface to the latest version as it prompted me to do so
to be honest wish i hadnt

in all the years of updating , never had 1 issue until now
I was presented with the below errors:
the code execution cannot proceed because mfc140u.dll was not found reinstalling the program may fix this problem
The code execution cannot proceed because CONCRT140.dll was not found , reinstalling the program may fix this problem
not even sure where to start ? i have tried reverting back to older drivers then tried the later one, just keep getting errors
I am running Win11
please help , as i have no TrackIR5 at all at the moment ?
Thanks
Dom

Hey Dom,
I think if you use the installer for 5.5.1 and use the "Repair" option, that will fix the driver for the camera.
Let me know if this works.

Hey Dom,
I'm going to see if there is a Driver that we share with you. This happens intermittently with our other cameras; Windows will update and think it has the best driver, but it doesn't.
It's getting late here, I'm not sure if I will be able to get one to you by the end of day today. For now, I would just revert back to 5.4.2. I'll try and follow up with you when I can.
Sorry about this.

Hi ,
I did try and revert back but unfortunately when I install 5.4.2
i get another System error when trying to load:
mfc120u.dll was not found
MSVCR120.dll was not found
MSVCP120.dll was not found
reinstalling the program may fix this problem ?
i am at a loss , appreciate your help , crazy how 1 update has caused so many issues for all the TrackIR Drivers for me
look forward to hearing back as of when you can
thanks
Dom

Hi DomP,
That MSVCR120.dll error is usually an indication that the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable did not install with TIR properly. Can you try manually installing 2015-2022 redistributable from the Microsoft website here?:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170
You should just need to download and run the installer for the X64 version. Please let us know if this resolves that error.

For those that have reinstalled VC++ Redistributables in 64bits and still no works, try to install 32bits version too. For me this have fixed issue (although we have a 64 bits system, install both VC++ redistributables).
Hope this helps!

Hi everyone,
We recently released version 5.5.2. This should have fixed some issues with how the 5.5.0 or 5.5.1 installers failed to update certain files, including the Microsoft redistributables. The above suggestions to install the redistributables are good suggestions as well, however if that or installing 5.5.2 still does not solve the issue then please try the following steps:
1) Save a copy of this TrackIR 5 folder to some other folder in file explorer: "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5"
2) Now, delete the TrackIR 5 folder inside of AppData.
3) Then, if you haven't installed 5.5.2 yet go ahead and install 5.5.2. If 5.5.2 is already installed then re-install or run a repair install for TrackIR 5.5.2. This will rebuild the AppData folder and rebuild any necessary files for running TIR successfully with games.
4) Launch TIR and initiate the "Games List Update" which will prompt you to relaunch TIR.
Please let us know if this solves the issue with TIR and Star Citizen.
Note, 'Step 1)' is intended to back up any custom settings you may have applied which are part of these files:
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\ProfileMap.dat"
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Settings.xml"
If there are any custom settings you want to retain like profiles, camera settings, or profile-to-title settings then you will want to replace the default files with your custom files in those paths in AppData. Please let us know if you have additional questions or concerns about any of this.
