Hello TrackIR enthusiasts!

We have currently released two new versions of the TrackIR software, 5.5.0 and 5.5.1.

5.5.0 added some sorely needed updates, but reintroduced a few legacy bugs, but we got reports of frequent crashes, and the position wasn't getting zeroed out correctly.

5.5.1 fixed most of the crashes that people were encountering, and the head position. You have to fully uninstall 5.5.0 (or 5.4.2) and install 5.5.1 fresh. We are still working on some fixes that should be coming out in the next few weeks.

We are very sorry for the problems that we have experienced with these releases, and hope to have some better releases in the future. If you are still having problems, feel free to post in the forums here and we can address them one by one.

TrackIR 5.4.2 has been on my Windows PC for many years working flawlessly. I migrated in place WIN10 Pro to WIN11 Pro when I built a new PC early this year. Migrated OS to a newer larger NVME drive along with X-Plane 11 and 12 all good.

When trying to uninstall 5.4.2 to install 5.5.0, the install package could not be found. I finally deleted the folder after finding no solutions online.

Tried to install 5.5.0 and it failed saying prior version found. I then went through the Registry and deleted every key I could find. It disappeared from Control Panel, but still would not install. After many searches for a solution, I re-installed and uninstalled 5.4.2 but same error on 5.5.0. Finally gave up and reinstalled 5.4.2.

Is there any solution available for this issue, or an override in the 5.5.1 installer Help me Obiwan, you're my only hope!

5.5.0 is working only if installed from scratch (and if you're lucky - took me three tries).
5.5.1 and 5.5.2 are borked. They install fine, but games won't detect TiR no matter what.

I guess it would be wise to remove the 5.5.1 and 5.5.2 from site, because whenever I go I see users really struggling and messing their installs with these versions.
Curiously, after last reinstall of 5.5.0 and updating the game list, my 5.5.0 install doesn't show the "software update" alert anymore, staying "silent" at 5.5 (which seems to be working ok until now).
Unfortunately, 5.5 doesn't have some of the 5.5.1 fixes that I think are important.
