TrackIR 5.5.2 Update caused isssues, cant recover

Windows 11 24H2 (26100.1742)
TrackIr 5.4.2 (I think!) was working fine and routinely.
Upgraded to 5.5.2

In DCS, TrackIR would work for like 20 sec, then freeze. Swtiching to tir app also had no tir activity (lights were on on the device). Could restart tir, and reproduce every time. Saw some others with 5.5.2 issues and decided to downgrade tir software.

Now nothing I can do can get the tir device properly seen by windows. Followed Jillian's last post in this thread a few times:

to uninstall.

Reinstall as admin 4.4.2 or 5.4.1. After install, tir as admin, no device detected in tir.

In Device Manager, the section called "Naturalpoint Devices" never shows up - even with new driver install. Plugging/unplugging tir5 device makes USB sound and in Device Manager, under "Other Devices" an Unknown device appears when plugged in, disappears when not.

Device Manager was showing a disabled AMD video card (from B650/7800X3D) and a virtual display monitor. Removed the virtual display in dev manager, disabled UMA Auto in Bios to "hide" the AMD graphics.

Windows now properly sees TrackIR as a device, and the tir app works. Run DCS. 1 min later, tir frozen. Back to square one. This was with 5.5.1. Going

Uninstalled 5.5.1, Installed 5.4.2. tir tracks in tir app. Didnt even run dcs, sometime later tir frozen. AT this point tir says its usual "shutting down clients", "camera" and quits, but when quitting from frozen state, IR and green lights remain on after exit. Launch tir, lights go off, tir app crashes/quits. Launch tir, and lights come on and tracking works.

back to square one...

"Square One" problem may have been a USB issue. tir was plugged into a samsung monitor (essentially a usb hub). plugged directly into motherboard USB and just flew in DCS for 30m without issue. Being a glutton for punishment, going to install 5.5.2.

Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting you've been through. Please let us know if you have any issues after installing 5.5.2. As you noted, using TrackIR with a USB hub can causing conflicts and other issues, so we strongly recommend connecting to a USB port on the motherboard. Virtual displays have also been known to cause conflicts with the TrackIR software. For example, users who also use Citrix need to reinstall Citrix using these instructions to prevent the Citrix Indirect Display Adapter from being installed with it: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/ ... 2/?l=latam.
