I put the PC into hibernation while TrackIR 5 is running.
After waking up the PC TrackIR 5 is not running anymore.

Hello fkb123,
Is this a new problem? If so, did it start after a software or driver update? If not, please go to Device Manager and for each of the USB Root Hubs uncheck the box that say "Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power." Then try again to see if the TrackIR software remains functional.
Kind Regards,

The problem does not occur with v5.4.2
The issue occurs wit v5.5.2
I rolled back to v5.4.2 and the problem disappeared.

Hello fkb123,
Is the issue with the TrackIR 5 software stopping during hibernation or the TrackIR 5 camera no longer being detected? What steps do you take to get it working again (i.e. restarting the computer, unplugging and reconnecting the camera, restarting the TrackIR software, etc.)?
Kind Regards,

Yes. After hibernating Head Movement is not detected anymore.
To solve it I have to restart Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Hello fkb123,
It sounds like this is normal behavior. When you tell your computer to hibernate, it is likely shutting down the USB ports, which turns off the TrackIR camera. When you resume, the camera must reinitialize with the TrackIR software. Because the TrackIR camera and software must be running before MSFS is started, you have to restart MSFS to restore the connection with the TrackIR system.
One thing to consider is whether you can use Sleep instead of Hibernate. I would also make sure that you have tried the following:
Right click on the start menu and select Device Manager.
Locate Universal Serial Bus controllers.
For each item in this list with the word “hub” in its name, double click on the item and go to the Power Management tab.
Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” and press OK.
Repeat for all USB hub devices.
Restart the computer.
If that didn't resolve the issue, follow these steps
Open Control Panel and navigate to Control Panel
Select All Control Panel Items
Open Power Options.
Click "Change plan settings."
Click "Change advanced power settings."
Find USB settings > USB selective suspend setting in the list, and ensure that it is set to disabled.
Press OK and reboot your computer.
Kind Regards,

Thanks for your suggestions which I will try.
Anyway I will update to MSFS 2024 and see how it works there

It is the same behaviour in MSFS 2024 i.e. after hibernating TrackIR is not tracking head movement anymore.
I have to restart the sim which is quite time consuming.
I have followed your suggestions about USB power mode but it makes no difference.
Maybe you can somehow make it possible?
As I wrote it did work with a previous software version of TrackIR.

Hello fkb123,
I will pass on your request to our developers. In what version did you find that the TrackIR remained connected after hibernation?
Kind Regards,
