TrackIR 4 & GTR

Was planning on getting a TrackIR system for use with GTR. Are there any reasons why the new TrackIR 4 system wouldn't work as well or better with GTR as compared to the TrackIR 3?
Is the TrackIR control code within a GTR .PLR file pretty much independant of the TrackIR hardware version being used?
thanks for any and all responses

Hello:
Sorry for the delayed response here.
You should be fine with the TrackIR 3 or the 4. Please keep in mind that the TIR 3 will require Vector Expansion to take advantage of 6DOF view control, where the 4 comes with it standard.

Sorry I am late
Ripps TIR4 works GREAT in both GTR and GTL.
If you go into C:\GTL\UserData\[RSms]Barred (in my case for GTL but it would be simular in GTR) and do a 'Find' for TrackIR then copy the following over all of the TIR info in your .plr file:-
TrackIR Pitch Down Limit="-0.15000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.15
TrackIR Pitch Up Limit="0.05000" // Min: 0, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Yaw Left Limit="-0.80000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0, Default: -0.40
TrackIR Yaw Right Limit="0.80000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.40
TrackIR Roll Left Limit="-0.07500" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.075
TrackIR Roll Right Limit="0.07500" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.075
TrackIR Move Left Limit="-0.05000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.05
TrackIR Move Right Limit="0.05000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.05
TrackIR Move Down Limit="-0.05000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.05
TrackIR Move Up Limit="0.03000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.03
TrackIR Move Forward Limit="-0.25000" // Min: -1.00, Max: 0.00, Default: -0.25
TrackIR Move Back Limit="0.25000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.25
That will give you a more realistic range of view over your shoulder.
Merry Christmas.
