Camera Fried?

I've had my TrackIR5 system for quite a few years and has worked flawlessly. Recently (Within the last few days) the camera no longer has the 4 red LED's in the center and only one LED on the left showing. I've tried all the drivers in the 5.0 series without any change and switching USB ports hasn't made any difference either. Does this point to a bad camera or is there something else afoot here? I looked for a SN on the camera but it has nothing visible.

Hi ejwells4091,
Are you using the TrackClip or the TrackClip Pro as the Tracking target? The red LEDs are required for use with the TrackClip (hat clip), but not with the TrackClip Pro. What color is the LED indicator on the left? If you open the TrackIR software and switch to Camera View, does the software show any green or red dots in the field?
The serial number is a 6 digit number, typically on a tag on the cord to the camera, and it should be noted in the TrackIR software as the Device number near the top left.
Kind Regards,

I have the TrackClip Pro and as long as I've had it the 4 red lights were always visible. The left LED is Green and when I bring up the software, it shows the 3 LED lights from the clip.

Hello ejwells4091,
When you move your head, is the camera tracking your movement? If so, then it sounds like the device is working as expected. It is possible there was something in an earlier software version that prevented the LEDs from turning off when TrackClip Pro was selected as the tracking target. They are only needed when the tracking target is TrackClip, so it is normal for them to be off when TrackClip Pro mode is selected.
If the software shows that the camera is working and you are still having trouble getting the TrackIR to work with a specific game, you may need to start both the TrackIR software and the game as an Administrator, or start both without administrative privileges.
Kind Regards,

As you mentioned when I'm in the software the head movements are tracked as they should be. I did try starting with Admin privileges on and off for the Sim and the TrackIR but it made no difference. My Sims are P3D_V4.5 and MSFS2020.
UPDATE: I did try the V_5.50 which did allow the 4 red LED's to be visible on the camera. Beyond that while the software shows that my head movements are being tracked, those movements do not happen in the Sim and I still have only the left LED lit.
Thanks

Hello ejwells4091,
The left LED indicates that the camera is tracking the TrackClip or TrackClip Pro successfully. The right LED indicates that the TrackIR is being used in a TrackIR-enhanced game. Have you updated your Games List, and do you see Prepar3D on the list of Titles?
Since the TrackIR is working normally except that it fails to connect to P3D, you can try resetting the SimConnect library, which is used to communicate with the TrackIR server.
Could you check if the files are included in the following installation directory? They are located in these folders:
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
If they already exist, try running the included MSI files to reset them. Once you have done that, reboot the computer, and then run TrackIR as administrator, and then run the game with administrator privileges as well.
Kind Regards,

Well Done Jillian! It was the SimConnect Files and that made sense after I realized that the "Windows Reset" I had performed last weekend probably removed those files in the process. I had loaded the control panel afterwards to check on some programs and never paid any attention to the missing SimConnect Files. My thanks to you Jillian, great job of troubleshooting.

Hi ejwells4091,
I am glad to hear this was an easy fix, and that your system is back up and running.
Kind Regards,
