What is Double Click Assist switches for?

The manual says "Double Click Assist switches: When this switch is active (blue) for a hotkey, the
trackIR will make it easier for the user to double-click on an area, but there will be
a slight pause after single clicks. When the switch is inactive (grey) it may be more
difficult for the user to issue double-clicks."
I think this is perhaps only relevant if I am using Left or Right Mouse Button Clicking Emulation is this correct?
I don't use trackIR for any navigation in Windows, and I don't use the mouse click emulation, and I don't know if I need this button switched on or off.
