Hello-
I am an Occupational Therapist working in Higher Education providing Assistive Tech to students, faculty and staff at a large State University. We recently purchased the TrackIR 5, as it appeared to be the only option for head tracking and computer access from Natural Point now that the Smart Nav is no longer in production.
Can the TrackIR 5 be used as a head tracker in conjunction with the dwell clicker software to access a computer?
I have Windows 11 on my PC, and have downloaded the TrackIR5 software successfully, however I am having trouble connecting the TrackIR to be used as a mouse with the dwell clicker software that I have installed. I would appreciate any help if anyone here has been successful with using the TrackIR5 as a head tracker with dwell clicker for computer access.
Rachel

Hello Rachel,
While the TrackIR can be used to move the mouse cursor around on the screen, it is not compatible with dwell click software or ability switches. You may wish to check out this head tracker: https://us.tobiidynavox.com/. We have no connection with this company, but their product may be worth investigating to see if it meets your needs.
We also have a forum thread where several users have discussed alternative options. Please note that there are multiple pages to this thread, including a user-provided list of alternatives.
