de-activating vector expansion

Hi, I have been trying to deactivate the vector expansion. Sometimes I do not need it or some of my games do not support it so i want to be able to de-activate it. I have not been able to do so and I have to keep the vector on the hat at all time for things to work, PLease help.

Kelter, try opening the settings panel in your profile and select hat. That shoud force the scanner/driver to look for one dot.

Hello:
There is a Dot / Vector button selection that should allow you to change between the two modes quite easily. Edit your profile and it should be at the top of the page.

Whoa, not so fast there.
I tried this very thing last night, as my Vector clip has gone missing, and IL-2: FB/PF would not accept the fact that there was only one dot.
Sigh.
How do I get my Vector hungry flight sim to use just the dot?
