Best practice for long duration use & explanation of LED color

Hello,
Two questions:
1) I'm working on an application that pulls the video stream from Prime color cameras using the Windows Camera SDK. This application is expected to run 24/7/365. There can be long periods of time when the stream isn't being actively consumed by anything. During these times, what's the recommendation on what I should do to the cameras? I see that there is CameraManager::PrepareForSuspend call - is that something I should be using so that camera resources are conserved? Any advice most helpful.
2) The button LED blinks green whenever I connect the Prime Color to a PoE switch. At other times, it turns blue. Can someone please explain what these color states mean? Also, there are several APIs in the camera SDK to manipulate the LED states? Does that apply to the Prime Color?
Thanks
Krish
