Track IR 4 no longer responds?

Hi there,
I received mt Track IR4 about 1 week ago, easy to install, easy to use all was great - 1 week later though it no longer does anything - to explain; it is plugged in and I have tried it on all 6 USB ports (built in, not a HUB). The only sign of life coming from it is a tiny red light that can only be seen by looking at the device from directly above it.
I have uninstalled all software and re-installed, USB ports are working fine will all other devices - is this a common problem with an easy fix (hopefully) or is it faulty?

I had this happen once before mate after I installed some new hardware (force feedback steering wheel). A very faint red light looking straight down from above at the Front Status LED.
It happened after I did the reboot and I also got a message advising me to use a USB2 position for best use of TIR.
Did a couple of reboots with no effect.
Cleared problem by powering my PC down and starting up again.
TIR back to normal and new hardware working ok.
Could only put it down to a conflict of some type.

When you just reboot your pc,
sometimes memory is not completely emptied,
as it is too short.
When you have problems, it is better to switch off your pc
and wait more than 30 seconds before starting again.
It is an old saying but ... it works very often

Thanks for the replies guys - unfortunately I have had the PC powered down since the first post I made and the Track IR is still doing the same thing i.e. nothing.
The only thing I have installed recently is a Nostromo Game Pad N52, which i have read elsewhere in these forums should not cause a conflict but it is a bit of a coincedence that someone else got problems after installing the same device; could be a conflict after all.

I had almost a similar problem with mine at first.I was advised to use the driver from the website,Dont forget to uninstall the old one first.Mine is working fine now.

I have just tried that but no joy either - I have also un-installed the Nostromo N52 Gamepad.
After re-connecting the Track IR in the USB port nothing happens apart from the little red light from above - it isn't even registering as a new device has been connected.

Try a different USB port to force the system into re-regestring it. It is also not a good idea to run the TIR on a Hub powered or not as it can try and put too much data through the port causing some drop out (problems).

Have you looked in 'START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM/HARDWARE/DEVICE MANAGER' yet to see if your TIR is listed. Normally in the USB controllers section.
If it is and under properties it says 'This device is working properly' try right click uninstalling it, then at the top press the 'Scan for hardware changes' button for windows to find it again.

You could try the 'Reg fix' that Rick has posted as this sorts most of these problems.

Thanks for the advice but that doesn't work either - no idea what else to try.
