please help me!!

Hiya guys,

I really need ur help on this one as I tried about everything.

I am a Lock On Modern Air combat player and before somebody starts with "Lockon is bugged.. yeah I know"

I play Lock on.. with the TrackIr. I just center the trackIr, puzzel a little bit, move my head .. right or left and end of story is.. I have a 'descent' working TrackIR within Lockon. Untill .. yesterday. Suddenly TrackIr started to act up a little bit weird. Almost like the pc was having trouble running it. Some points of the screen.. it just ingnored. Than all images stopped and I couldn't move 'virtual' head any place. After some time.. image restored again.

I un-installed, installed.. adjusted some settings to my knowledge.. but nothing. I worked perfect .. until yesterday

I hope somebody can shine a light for me on this.

Hi Archer,

I think you're just experiencing some more of Lomac's TrackIR bugs.

It's done odd things with me also - 1st few days I got the famous "crotch-view" when centering, then suddenly it started centering out the left side of cockpit!

At various times there is a "crotch magnet", if I glance down at panel, it's like it auto-centers on my crotch and I can't look up until I hit KP5. And often it will instantly snap back to crotch mode after hitting KP5.

Another irritating problem I get is, I can check 6 to the left easily, but I can rarely look back far enough right to even see the wing. It didn't always do that...

A really annoying one is, when I finally get a usable forward view, a slight push forward or side-to-side on the stick will sometimes snap me back to crotch-view.

And most of the time the motion is sluggish and jerky, not smooth like it should be.

Yet other times I don't have these problems and TrackIR is almost usable!!?!?

Who knows what's going on??? I think TrackIR support is crapped worse than people suspect.

On the www.lo-mac.com forum, I read tonight that the patch is due out very soon (a UBI techie supposedly said maybe as early as Dec 12), and fixes TrackIR bugs. Let's hope so!

Hi Lee,

thx for the quick reply. But it is not only in Lomac that I expierence the issue.. even when booting up the TrackIr Software and checking if I can move my head normall, it stopes responding if I move either quick or.. at random times.

I never saw this before. Allthough not a very experienced TrackIr user (just got the beautiful piece of hardware) I did play some games (of Lomac) with it. No trouble..went as silk. Demo.. went as silk. The full version..went as silk.. till... yesterday.

I de-installed and re-installed the TrackIr software.. but it didn't help.

I hope somebody can shine his (or hers ) ligth on it and has an solution for this.

Hi Archer,

I'm no expert but if it don't even work right in the TrackIR Motion screen, I'd suspect the hardware has broken.

If I were you I'd send an email to support@headtracking.com with the details.

According to the warranty at http://games.naturalpoint.com/support/warranty.html you have 30 days from delivery date to return defective product for repair or replacement.

Good luck, I hope you'll get it worked out quickly! I've found that before you have one, TrackIR is a luxury item, but after you've used it a day or two, it is as mandatory as a joystick for a flight sim!

LOL.. I have it much longer than 30 days.

I got some more info.. if someone can help me. The fact is that 70% of the time trackIR is not 'receiving data'

The strange thing is it did before. Is there some setting you know I did wrong? If I start up 'Naturalpoint software' and enable 'motion' it does see every movement I make. However when using the 'tracking tab' it fades away and claims 'no data'.

I am getting desperate.. help please,
