TrackIR will only work with bundled software.

Ok, after many hours reading the forums and trying everything that's been mentioned, I still cannot get my trackir to work with anything but the original software. It works great with the original software, but when I load up anything else all I get is "no data" in the program.
I've gone though and manually deleted all (at least all I could find) registry entries for natural point, ezusb, ezmon... etc.. as per Jim Richardsons instructions in another post. I've deleted the drivers from the computer, I've also tried doing a system restore and installing just the new software. It all installs fine, but still getting "no data"
Specs:
Windows XP Home
AMD 64 3200+
Gigabyte K8N Pro
1GB PC3200 Crucial Ram
Geforce FX5600XT
Memorex 54/24/54 CDR/CDRW Drive
Pioneer DVDR/RW Drive
Maxtor 80GB 7000 RPM HDD
Maxtor 40GB 7000 RPM HDD
My USB Ports are USB 2.0 (not sure if that is the problem or not)
Any other info anyone might need let me know and I'll get it posted.

I'm not 100% sure about what you mean with "original software" and "anything else" ? Is it different versions of the drivers or what?

Yea, it works fine with the drivers that come on the disc, but if I update to anything else the TrackIR, well, for lack of a better term, won't track. All I get is the no data signal. This happens no matter how I install it. Whether it be completely fresh with the updated drivers, or if I install the original drivers first and then update. Yelling and cussing, and threating to smash it to pieces doesn't work either.
Is there a difference between the GX and other versions of the TrackIR?

Can you be more specific and answer the following questions :
1) what is the serial number of your trackIR.
2) is it a trackIR-1 or a trackIR-2.
3) what is the version of software that came with your trackir (which you mention, works).
4) what version of the software are you trying to upgrade to.

TrackIR-1 GX (ED version, does that make a difference?)
It came with Version 1.21
I've tried upgrading to 2.12 and 3.03, I've also done a system restore and installed each one seperately. Both install fine, the TrackIR shows up in the device manager, but it just gives me the no data message when I run the software.

First : Have you spoken with a technical support representative here yet? I do not see any comments under your serial number here.
If you have not, then I would recommend calling and speaking to a member of our tech support team. (and if you do, be sure to mention this thread on the forum so they can look it up).
Next :
It sounds like the USB driver for the trackir-1 might not be getting updated when you install. You can check by doing the following.
Go ahead and install either 2.12 or 3.03 and then do a search for this file : "ezmon.sys". Read the date off the file and post it into this forum.

That is the correct date (version) for the driver, it means that the USB driver is getting properly installed. At this point I would recommend calling our technical support line, they may be able to help you resolve the problem in a timely manner.
