TK has released a patch that finally puts TrackIR where it should have been: you can zoom in and out by leaning forward and back. There is even limited left to right and up/down translation. So the only thing you can't do is tilt your head left/right. The 45 deg uplook limit was fixed a few patches back, so things are looking great for TrackIR in Strike Fighters series games:
Strike Fighters: Project 1
Stirke Fighters Gold
Wings Over Vietnam
Wings Over Europe
and the as yet untitled/unreleased WWI sim
