Initially I was told via the phone number that the TrackIR 2 software is fine to use with a TrackIR unit. Is this true? I *have* been using the 3.x software, and everything seems to be okay.

Ok here's the potential issue.

I'm running a TI4600 Geforce 4, with 53.03 drivers and VSynch off.

I get a BSOD in nvcpl.dll only when using the TrackIR and playing Forgotten Battles. Without TrackIR, I can run the game (in "burn-in" track loop mode) indefinately; however, at times, when fast-checking my 6 o'clock, or just moving around employing TrackIR *poof!* bluescreen!

Anyway to debug or confirm this?

If you have the TrackIR1 then you should be using the version 2.12 drivers, because the 3x drivers have been wrote specifically for TrackIR2. Although I have heard of users using these drivers for TrackIR1 with no problems they were not designed for your TrackIR1 hardware.
I would install the correct drivers and see if the issue remains. If the problem is still present then please contact me at support@naturalpoint.com.
