V Sync on doesn't seem to work

Enabling V sync is one of the recommendations for using TrackIR. However, on my system having V Sync forced on through the nvidia control panel has no effect I still get quite annoying tearing when panning with Track IR (or the hat switch). I have a 6800GT card and am using 91.47 drivers (but same effect with all other drivers I haved used). Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi sometimes the game itself needs vsync turned on from within the game. If there is a vsync option ingame use that instead of the controlpanel one.

Also, are you running any other add-on applications?

Did you turn V-sync on in the global setting or in an application-specific profile? It seems the application-specific profile is problematic. Try the global setting if you have not done so.

I'm using the gobal setting and as far as I can tell there is no in game setting for V Sync in FS2004 which is the only game I use TrackIR for.

Are you using the stand alone version of FS 2004, or are you using any add-on software for it?

Well I have now discovered that if I use full screen mode in FS2004 V Sync does work, odd because haven't seen any reference to V sync not working in windowed mode. I still get what I would describe as blurring of the display as I pan but with V sync on in full screen mode the horizontal tearing doesn't occur. Due to my multi monitor setup I always fly in windowed mode so having to use full screen mode for TrackIR is going to be a bit of an annoyance.
