My TrackIR3Pro + Vector Expansion will arrive today , so I checked the NaturalPoint website for the latest software. Being a cautious person, I would just use version 4.1.028 since that would be the stable version, but in the description of 4.1.029 alpha I see "added True View (more natural movement)". I cannot find any info on this, so I'll just post my questions here:

- what does True View do?
- does anyone have experience with it, does it make a big difference?

As for the 4.1.029 alpha 3 version itself, has anyone had issues with it compared to 4.1.028?

Picture it this way. I'll use a flight simulator as an example, because that's what I use, and it makes it easier to assign an arbitrary forwards and backwards direction for the explanation. In normal, non true view mode if you turn your head the translation axis doesn't rotate with it.. meaning if you look 90 degrees to the right (that is so in game your view rotates 90 degrees), then in game it would make sense that sliding your head to the left (relative to your head) would move it towards the front of the cockpit, in game. Instead it moves you to the left side of the plane. The translation axis hasn't rotated to follow the orientation of your head.

Where as in trueview, somehow they make it all work. I can look almost behind me, out a side window, and then if I move my head to the side (proper in game direction) I peek out over the edge of the window.

- As for the new software, there are a limited number of issues currently being looked into, but the majority of them are tied to FSX in some fashion.

Can I install 4.1.029 just on top of 4.1.028, or do I need to deinstall 4.1.028 first?
Do I need to unplug the device before installing the software? Thanks again in advance for your help!

We generally recommend unplugging the unit during the reinstall process.

When running the installer, it will uninstall the old software first.
