FS9 + Mutliple Monitors + Virtual Cockpit?

Hi,

I have searched the archives for an answer on this but have drawn a blank. I use the vector expansion and track IR 3.

I would like to run the trackIR with flight simulator 2004 and the three monitors, all displaying the virtual cockpit panned properly between the three.

I can set up the monitors perfectly but head movements are only registered on one window. Is there some way to drive all three windows?

I keep getting close to flight simulation perfection, only to be denied at the final hurdle by something either affecting performance or the functionality just not being available.

I really hope there is a way to get this working.

Kind regards and thanks to your time,

SMJ Freeman

Is the desktop to across all three monitors, or are they setup windows dragged to the other monitors?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have tried both ways

1. In full screen, undocking windows - and dragging them to the other two monitors...

and

2. In windowed mode, again, undocked and dragged.

It doesnt work, HOWEVER - some inputs are getting to the other screens.... ie zoom, X, Y - but no head turning.

Cheers.

Hmmmm, thgat seems very strange. If the x, y, and z access is functioning, the yaw pitch and roll should also be working.

Within windows, how do you have the monitors setup to display?

hi,

the monitors are just 3 in a row and extended desktop turned on.

in fs, I start in windowed mode, undock my side views and drag them to the side monitors. then I goto full screen.

the middle monitor is 24 inch wide, and the two sides are 19 inch... both 45 degrees inward facing.

the setup works well with wideview, using offsets for the eyepoint on the two side monitors... but this is without trackir.

what i'm trying to do is;

1. configure fs2004 to allow me to offset the side views (i can prob get that info elsewhere)

2. get trackir to drive all three views, not just the one I last clicked on.

thanks for your help.

It may not be able to due to the fact that FS 2004 is actually drawing these as seperate views within the software, and the TrackIR will only adjust the view is the current, or the one selected.

Yes thats what I've found.

Would it be too difficult to mofidy the trackIR fs2004 software componenet to drive all virtual cockpit views?

Its nearly there at it is... as XYZ works

kind regards

It's the way that FS9 draws the images in the seperate windows, and really isn't tied to the TrackIR itself.

Why don't you buy the matrox triple head 2 go box, then it will work fine like mine.

That is because it is drawing it as one full desktop with the Matrox product.
