Is the USB cable for the SmartNav hardwired, or is it removable?

The reason I ask is that I travel quite a bit. I've found no matter how hard I try to stay organized, anything with a cable ends up a tangled mess in my bag.

My rule now is that if I can't use a retractable cable for it, it doesn't go with me. Though this is a hard line approach it is the only way I can remain sane.

The cable is physically attached to the SmartNAV unit. It does have its own strap, attached to the cable, to use when you coil up the cable.
