Internal Failure: 0x80040707

I ended a Falcon AF 4.0 mission with the normal <Esc> then end mission button and got the dreaded black screen of death... i sat for 5 minutes and couldn't get anything... <ctrl+alt+del>, windows key, nothing would bring me back to Falcon or even Windows...
i turned off the power, waited about a minute, rebooted and noticed my trackIR was acting a little weird...
i attempted to uninstall via the control panel and received the Internal Failure notification... I unplugged the TrackIR and attempted to reinstall the driver... again the same failure... pics below of the failure sequence... i rebooted again without TrackIR plugged in... created a restore point and then removed every instance of Natural Point from the registery and HD... i noticed that Natural Point had control of several ( about 5 USB ports )... i have moved my system from one room to another and plugged all the USB devices back in and had plugged TrackIR in a completely random port on several occassions... possibly 5... finally i removed every instance/folder of TrackIR from the program folder group... i verified that TrackIR was no longer in the Control Panel>Uninstall Menu ( it was not there ) and rebooted twice... 1 minute between each...
I got out the TrackIR install disk that came with the device ( Ver 4.1.028 ) and placed it into the CD drive and let it begin it's auto install... again... Internal Failure... as a last resort... i plugged in the TrackIR and let windows autodetect it... it did and requested the install disk's location... i provided it and the install started again... this time it stopped requesting a npusb.sys file that is not located on my system... about to restore but thought i'd let you guys see if there was something obvious that i'm missing..
Thanks...

I clicked on each button and followed the onscreen prompts... notice that there is no data available in some of the dialog boxes...
