Santa's not fair...cannot install my gift

Hi all!
I've been as nice as an old kid can be, this year, so Santa brought me the latest toy I was dreamin' of, but it just doesn't even install!!!
I installed the latest driver 029 OK, plugged Track IR, have the install new device window popping up, Track Ir recognized and installed, then my computer restarts again and again until I unplug TrackIr!!
Have an ABit A8N-SLI motherboard, with a double core AMD 64 4200, 2 Go DDR 333, an NVidia 7800GT video card, 2 HDD, and 4 misc drives.
FS 9 and 10 up and running.
Any idea before I spend new year's eve reformating and yelling at my retailer ? :-))

1- Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers, and motherboard bios installed

2 - Try moving USB ports

3 - Try an external USB (powered) hub.

Try another (powered) USB port. I had the same problem when I first connected my device to a non-powered USB port on my keyboard (Logitech G15), but after connecting it to a USB port on my computer everything worked just fine.

Shame on me, my USB hub power was off!!!
My TrackIr's now working great!
