TrackClip Pro to Vector Hat Clip?

Im contemplating taking the TrackClip apart and using fixing the LEDs onto the Track Hat Clip and have a few questions if you please:

1) After mounting the LEDs onto the Hat Clip (thinking of drilling small holes and rubber grommets to house them), what setup should I use in the software (Track Hat with LED turned off?) ?

2) Is a battery option a possibility?

3) If yes to question two, how long would an AAA battery last?

4) Any internal wiring or PCB boards I should be aware of before I break out the hammer ?

Any other bits of advice or comments are welcome.

Cheers

1 - In the profiles, the setting would be Vector, and you could turn off the LEDS.

2/3 - You can make it battery powered quite easily, just cut the cord or solder something to the clip part, very low power, like 16ma, so a battery could last for 24 hours

4 - Both, there are wires running internally, on the bars, as well as a small PCB in the base clip.

p.s. - That would void the warranty.......
