Must plug TIR3 into pass through USB?

The pdf file shows the TrackIR being plugged into the pass through USB connector for the TrackClip but that's not required is it? I have a USB headset, so it would be far more convenient for me to just strap the clip's cable and the headset cable together and plug the headset into the pass through.

I think that the image was just a sugestion as to how the pass through works. I do not think that the headset would be a problem.
I have even put a few rings of tape around my headset cable and the active clip to keep them together.

You can plug any USB device into the passthrough. It was just a suggestion to use the TrackIR unit, but the headphones would be a great idea.
