Battery powered TrackClip Pro?

I had this idea stuck in my head that the Trackclip pro was battery powered and charged up by plugging it into a USB port. Well after getting mine, I found I've got one more wire to deal with.
The unit seems to work better then the Hat with vector clip, but I hate having to deal with the extra wire.
Well, what do you think of the chances of developing one with a rechargable battery? It wouldn't have to use a USB port, but could have a socket on the side of the unit, that you could plug a wall transformer type charger plug into.
Does the unit use anything other then getting voltage from the USB port to power it now?
I would think the LED's use very little power and you could probably get away with a pretty small rechargable battery and get several sessions out of it before recharging.
