My monitor fits too snugly into my computer work station to place the receiver on top of it. Due to that and other configuration constraints, I would like to fix the receiver on the monitor frame with some velcro. Is there any way to safely remove the stand assembly from the receiver body without damaging one of the components?

Not really, as the stand is built into the unit housing. You can also mount the unit to either the side, or upside down, and adjust the settings for how the unit is mounted within the software.
