Is there a way to use TIR 4 in the spot view of FS9? If so, how do you set it up to work in spot view? Thanks.

I'm not aware of any way to enable the TrackIR outside of the VC in FS2004.

Whoa.
Now I'm really confused.
This directly contradicts what you said in this thread:

In Spot plane view Active Camera 2004 and TrackIR are working perfectly together. The same can be said for external pilot view (easy to pan with TrackIR and walk with the number pad keys).
And, indeed, the same exact phraseology is used on NaturalPoint's own
FS2004 Enhanced Game Page (Item #4 under "Tips & Tricks").
I'd simply love to have this answered once and for all by someone; I'm surprised that no one ever chimes in and says an absolute YES or NO. By the number of times the above mantra is repeated on these forums in various and sundry posts, my hunch is that it
does work; yet, amazingly, no one knows just how it can be
made to work.
Please someone.... if you've gotten Active Camera to work in Spot/External View in FS2004,
please say something. It would be
much appreciated!

OK, using Active Camera, is different than using the TrackIR in the normal spot Plane View, and 2d cockpits within FS2004.
With the stock software, it is not possible, with Active Camera that is another story, as I believe that is still running in the 3d cockpit mode, but from different ponts of view.

Makes perfect sense, but....
How can one get the two to work as stated in a myriad of posts and blurbs around the NaturalPoint forums/site?
Again, I would be much obliged if someone could simply spell this out clearly once and for all.
