Switch from cap to headset - problems

Hi guys

I bought my TrackIR 4 Pro last week and have been using it with the standard LOMAC profile with the Vector reflector on a BB cap.

I found the movements a bit 'wild' and also didn't really like wearing the cap, so I mounted the Vector on my headset band.

Now I don't seem to have any head movement ingame and when I check the responses on 'heads' I see that alot of head movement is initially required to move the virtual head and then it moves round very quickly. Up and down axes are even worse.

I looked at the TIR guide on AirWarfare but the screens I get are different in that I don't have a 'Hat' or 'Headset' option. Is there anything I can do without adjusting the profile sensitivity to give me better control?

(Sorry - I can do without learning all the profiling gen at the mo - I'm new to LOMAC and am learning all the controls and I just got a Saitek X52 HOTAS and its all a bit much to get my head around everything so quickly )

Thanx!

Looking at the Tracking screen, within the TrackIR software (View->Tracking); what do you see on the screen?

You should only have the 3 green reflectors centered on the camera view.

Yes - I do have the 3 reflection points - but the movement is not as much with the VE on my headset as it would be with it on my cap and I think this is the problem.

With a cap, the whole shebang moves when I move my head - with the headset, it pretty much rotates around a point.

Is there a way for me to switch between headset and cap settings, as per the airwarfare tutorial (which doesn't appear on my config screen) ?

Here is the airwarfare screen:

I know it is a TIR3 in the tute - but I saw such a setting during installation - but not now its all installed:

That option isn't available, with the latest version of the software.

Could you attach a screen shot of your tracking screen (TrackIR software, and send it to support@naturalpoint.com?

To make Print Screen work, you must save an image of what's displayed on-screen to the clipboard and then paste it into a document where it can be printed.

Windows Help: Print Screen

To do this, follow this procedure:

1. Maximize the window you'd like to capture.
2. To copy/capture the current window, hold down ALT + Print Scrn at the same time. To capture the entire screen, just press Print Scrn alone.
3. Open a new document in MS Paint, MS Word, MS Photo Editor, or Adobe PhotoShop.
4. Paste the screen shot by holding down CTRL and V at the same time.
5. Save the document as a .JPG or .JPEG file and send it in.

The tracking screen is looking just fine - but it's okay - I've gone back to wearing the hat.

Thanx for your time.
