Hi,
I just built a new PC with Vista 32-bit.
After installing TIR3 and the lastest patches of il-2 1946, 4.08 everything looks OK, but after 10-15 minutes of flying the TIR freezes and don't work anymore. The green LED dies but the ir LEDs are still on.
When I try to shut down the TIR software, it shuts down the program, but not the processes or the TIR. I try to stop the process, but cannot. Only thing that helps is to reboot.

The TIR is on a powered USB hub that I used with the previous pc without any problems, so that should not be it.

Any ides of what this could be?
I tried GTR for about 30 minutes without having this problem at all.

What version of the TrackIR software are you running?

Do you have any firewall.antivirus software installed?

In the profiles folder, C:\Program Files\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles, is there any profile larger than 4KB?

Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?

Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?

In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.

OK, followed your suggestions with the USB hub, and it seems like it fixed the problem.
I removed some of the equipment that was on the hub and voila, works like a charm again.

I think it was the Saitek x52 that was the final drop for the power on the hub.
