If you're getting this error message as part of an installation or upgrade routine, here's one of the easiest ways to circumvent the problem:

1. Go to the directory that holds the file for launching the installation (for example, Setup.exe).

2. Right-click on the installation file and select Run As.

3. Uncheck the box that says Protect My Computer And Data From Unauthorized Activity, and click OK.

Alternatively, if you're running this installation from a CD, you may need to simply clean the CD and try the installation again. Another possibility for resolving this error is to run Windows Update on the system before running the installation routine.

Also try using the latrest version of the software for your hardware, located here.

Also if you are still having issues..........

I've included a link on some registry troubleshooting setups that can help resolve the issue.

I still have the same problem after trying solutions posted on here. I also can't uninstall the software in order to get a fresh copy. This must be some kind of registry problem but I don't know how to fix it. Serial is 44608: TrackIR 4.

Are you logged on as an administrator?

Does it have the same issue whether using the software off the cd or downloaded from the website?

I'm logged into an admin account. Same problem with both CD and online software.
