TrackIR 4 and FSX

Hello,

Today I received my TrackIR 4 in the mail. I was able to set it up with help from some previous forum posts. The good news is it works with IL-2 1946. The bad news is it wont work with FSX.

I don't get the blue light when running FSX. I have TrackIR version 4.1 build 30. I tried the tip of deleting the folder in Documents and Settings and then running the repair option on FSX. The only firewall I use is a hardware one in my router, which I disabled and still no go. I also disabled my anti-virus software. I even took out the FSUIPC4.DLL just on the off chance that it might be that, but no luck there either.

Any other tips?
Thanks in advance.

Joe

It's not the one in documents and settings...

location is,
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

What OS are you running?

What AVG application?

Yes, that's the correct folder I deleted.

OS is Win XP Home Edition SP2

AVG is Avira AntiVir Personal Edition. But I have it deactivated when I've been trying to get FSX and TrackIR working.

1 - Try it one more time, and make sure it is recreating the simconnect file within the folder as well....

2 - FSX does show up, within the profiles tab of the TrackIR software?

3 - FSUIPC4 is/was working ok?

1. Redid the repair, the only file in: C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9 is SimConnect.dll

2. Yes, FSX is in the profiles tab.

3. Yep, FSUIPC4 worked fine before.

Still no luck. No blue light of success

I installed the latest version: 4.1.030 B and it worked!!!!!
Not sure why, but I'm not asking too many questions.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Vincent. I really appreciate your quick responses. It's great to see true 'customer support'. Thanks again!
