TrackIR: Changing it's behaviour ....

...from relative movement to a sort of panning
So the normal behaviour of TrackIR is that when you move your head left your in game view also moves left + the acceleration value, and when you return your head to centre your in game view also returns to centre.
What I'd like though is a sort of panning system.
E.g. I move my head left from centre then the in game view pans left as well, but when I return my head centre the in game view stops panning.
I think this would be more intuitive for tracking objects that are outside my plane, so I'm wondering if this is possible?
