Hi,
We are many users with two flights sim installed: FS2004 and FSX.
We've all windows Vista 64 and lasted drivers (4.1.030 - B (beta 1) installed.
Fsx detected Track IR 4 and functioning perfectly.
With FS2004 we never see the blue led.
Track IR only detect vector (green led)but never functioning in virtual cockpit. What can we do? Thanks for your help Antoine

Do you have any 3rd party applications installed on FS 2004?

Yes we use few additionals scenery like France vfr.

Make sure you have the standard language.dll installed with FS2004. Some custom versions of the DLL remove strings required by TrackIR.

Ensure that the notification messages in FS2004 are turned on. The notifications appear in the upper right corner in red when switching to the virtual cockpit. The setting is found in your fs9.cfg file located by default in:

c:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
[Main]
HideInfoText=0

Many users have the same problem and try to use 2 differents drivers.
They have installed in "NaturalPoint/TrackIR4" folder the first version with 4.1028 driver and in a different folder name "TrackIRFSX " the second version 4.1029 .
When they start 4.1028 they use fs2004.
When they start 4.1029 they use FSX.It run perfectly!!!
But i think they dont use Vista.
In my vista 64 i have installed in same conditions 2 drivers : 4.1028 for fs2004 and 4.1030 for FSX.
When i start 4.1028 before start fs2004 there is no mouvements (the green led shine because trackIR detected my vector).I know 4.0128 driver is not optimized for vista.
When i start 4.1030 before FSX its perfect!
When i start 4.1030 before FS2004 nothing!!!
Maybe you ave to include new drivers for FS2004 with Vista 64.

I have the TrackIR software running FS9 within Vista 64-bit here just fine.

Is this a clean instal of FS2004, or do you have any add-on applications installed?

Have you tried a clean install of version 4.1.030?

yes i try to install a clean version of 4.1.030 but no results.

I will try later to install fs2004 without addons in order to see if tracki ir start.

OK... let me know how that goes...

it's real! fs2004 by default run with 4.130 . and fsx too. Maybe there is a problem with addons but it's strange because before instal vista and new trackir drivers, fs2004 work even if addons were installed. If you know which addons cause problems with this drivers , please inform me . I'll try to install adonns one by one to detect the bad ones.

If one of the add-on applications is changing the language.dll file, or cfg. file, than that will be where the issue is.
