Bad Tracking problems

Hello,
I have the following problem with my TrackIr pro (Vector Expansion enabled). Every now and then when in the middle of a game the head tracking goes crazy. It becomes erratic, and it jumps up and down very rapidly. When viewed from the TrackIR-software's tracking window at times the three reflections from the track clip are shown in two and the reflections change color to red (as the reflection from the track hat normally appears).
There isn't any apparent help to this problem. For example restarting the software or the computer doesn't help. The problem persists until all of the sudden it just is gone again without any logical reason that I can think of. I just uninstalled the earlier version of the software and replaced it with the 4.1 Built 30-version and it didn't solve the problem either.

OK, if you are using the TrackHAT, as well as the Vector clip, then you are seeing the 3 reflector from the clip, as well as the built in reflector from the cap, correct?
This is the issue, the Vector expansion works off of just 3 reflectors; the 4th one will cause the software to be confused, and will behave erratically. I would cover up the built in reflector, on the TrackHAT, with a piece of tape, or use different baseball cap. You should only see 3 green reflectors on the Tracking window, and nothing else (no red or white dots).

I will do that but it has worked great with the track hat's reflector visible as well. Now that I've been testing the problem I have just held the track clip in my hand and the results are the same. Right now the problem doesn't go away anymore like I told in my first post.

Hi again,
Here is a screenshot showing the problem. It obviously shows just one frame but it gives the basic idea. The movement is basically erratic jumping up and down and most of the time the reflection from the track clip appears in two like in the screenshot.

No, I'm not. That is just one still image displaying the symptoms. Like I said, the reflections from (one) track clip momentarily (fractions of a second) display in two.
Also, it looks like the refresh rate of the tracking as dropped to just few frames per second while it is doing that. It is damn hard to exactly describe what it does, please ask if you have any more questions.

Try the following things -
Have you tried the device on another system?
Are you plugging in directly to the system, or are you using a hub?
Have you tried isolating the device on the USB ports?
Have you tried turn off any kind of power save feature for your USB ports?
In the "Device Manager" you can right click the "USB Hub"(s), that show, and then select properties. On the power management tab, uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off the USB port to save power (i.e. uncheck the box). Sometimes that has an impact on the connectivity of the devices.
Do you have the latest chipset drivers, and motherboard bios installed?
