Basic usb commands for TrackIR 4

I would like to develop a mini driver for TrackIR 4 in linux.

By mini I mean:
  • set it up
  • get an image (using it like a normal, but very fast, webcam)
  • maybe use the built in points-filter
I have read some other posts on the matter. NaturalPoint claims that they will not release a specification for developing drivers for linux.

My question is if I can get small unofficial "specification" for getting started. E.g starting up the connection with the TrackIR and some other basic usb commands.

Thank You and Best Regards,

The TrackIR can't be used as a normal webcam......

Generally, some of that information would be contained in the TrackIR SDK, which is not freely available.

The Opti Track SDK is freely available - Which can also be used with the TrackIR hardware
